Imagine that you are interested in visiting Museums in Paris or going Bungee Jumping from the Kawarau Suspension Bridge in New Zealand and would like to contact someone who has experienced those activities before. The new Experts feature is meant to assist you in situations such as these.

An Expert at Activitravel is a person or organization that has a high degree of knowledge about a particular activity at a particular destination and agrees to being contacted to share this knowledge. Expertise can be based on this person or organization's status as a Local, Visitor or Travel Professional. Note that only Business Members may claim to be Travel Professionals. If a private member indicates that he or she is a Travel Professional, the membership status will automatically change to Business (which in any case is free at Activitravel.com).

A member can become an Expert of a particular activity/destination by ticking a couple of boxes on the Experts tab of the Review form for that destination. There will be four different modes of contact available: Twitter, Facebook, Website or the Message Board on the member's profile on Activitravel.

Activitravel will try to reward Experts by announcing their expertise in various communication channels. All Experts who agree to being contacted through Twitter, for instance, will be promoted to our thousands of followers on Twitter. Members with the most expert reviews will also achieve more visibility on the Full Profiles tab of the Community area. More important, however, is that Experts as of now will be visible on a separate tab for anyone who views a destination on Activitravel.

Do you have particular knowledge about doing a travel activity at a certain destination either as a local, visitor or travel professional? If so, we hereby invite you to promote that expertise on Activitravel.com!
